All over New Mexico in the 92 public libraries, the 19 tribal libraries, the 800+ school libraries, and the 36 academic libraries, librarians and their library users are finding similar benefits from the funds they receive from the GO Bonds.
2006
The successful 2006 GO Bond election provided $3,000,000 for all New Mexico school libraries:
“[The GO bonds] have made it possible to replace books with copyright dates from 20 years ago or older with new and current materials for students to use.” –C.C.
In 2006 voters approved $3,000,000 for Academic libraries to purchase computers:

“Our students…lack access to many, if not most, important electronic resources–and are seeing this already-limited access further reduced day after day. The citizens of New Mexico deserve better than this; please approve the 2010 Library GO Bond, and give our youth the education they need to compete and succeed.” CN
The voters approved the 2006 GO Bond election and this provided $3,000,000 for public libraries to purchase books and computers:
“I am 65, on Social Security Disability and can’t afford computers, program upgrades and maintenance that the libraries offer to the public. Computers keep my mind active.”
2008
The successful 2008 GO Bond election provided $3,000,000 for books for all school libraries in New Mexico:
“These funds have helped to maintain a current collection in my library, providing materials to which our students ordinarily would not have access.”
“[The GO bonds provide] access to the materials/resources which our children don’t have at home [and are] promoting students’ literary development.” –J.F.
In 2008 voters approved $3,000,000 for academic libraries:
“The GO Library Bond funds have been essential to the…Library. They have enabled us to replace our patron access computers with new and up-to-date equipment that is vital to our library users in finding online as well as traditional resources.” D. D.
